My Lifeproof case leaked and ruined ruined my iphone. For revenge, I crush two iphone lifeproof cases. First I introduce the iphone lifeproof cases and explain how they are going to be crushed by the hydrualic press. The iphone lifeproof cases are then stacked on top of each other and a small steel weight is placed on top of them to spread the force out to the entire iphone lifeproof case. After being crushed as the pressure rises, the steel weight breaks and explodes out towards the camera. In the end the iphone lifeproof cases were smashed, but they did manage to break a steel weight in the process!

After the iphone lifeproof cases have been smashed and broken, we look at the broken pieces. The screens popped out and the plastic is heavily deformed. The two pieces of the iphone lifeproof cases have been seperated indefinitely. It looks like the iphone lifeproof cases met their match against the hydraulic press!

I Figured Out How to Film Inside a Microwave! Slow Motion in HD of a CD Filmed Inside a Microwave

This is one of my favorite videos I have done. I film a CD inside a microwave in high definition and 1,000 fps slow motion. Normally you cannot get get footage of anything in a microwave because the grating of the microwave blocks the view and if you put a camera in a microwave under normal conditions it will destroy the camera almost instantly. But I have developed a method to film objects in a microwave! This is some amazing footage of what happens when you put a CD in a microwave. First I show in real time the sparks that occur. Then I show you in slow motion the amazing sparking pattern that occurs. The sparks blink with a periodicity of about 7 thousandths of a second as the voltage builds up on the sputtered aluminum on the polycarbonate.

Silly String Crushed by Hydraulic Press

Watch as a can of silly string is crushed flat by a hydraulic press. Learn about some of the history of silly string. Did you know that it was reported that in 2006 silly string was used by American and British soldiers to see otherwise invisible tripwires in Iraq! After reports of soldiers using silly string to expose trip-wires purpose it became widely searched on the internet for the chemistry behind how silly string really works.

We expose some of the chemistry of silly string by explaining the basics of aerosols using propellants that evaporate when they are no longer under the pressure of the can. Freon 12 was first used in the original patent for silly string. However, it depleted the Ozone layer so it is no longer used as a propellant in silly string.

After the science and background of silly string is briefly discussed, then it is the hydraulic press’s turn to smash the silly string. As the hydraulic press presses down on the silly string, it sprays out more and more until the pressure of the can equilibrates with the ambient pressure. Then watch in fast motion again as the silly string can is crushed. Then watch again in reverse motion in case you missed anything.

Finally, a recap is made of the whole event. The silly string did not explode as you would expect a pressurized can to do. However, it did spray out its entire contents and then was crushed flat by the press.
