In this video I put 16 Twinkies in my vacuum chamber. I talk about what I think will happen when I put them in the vacuum chamber. When the air is sucked out the Twinkie’s internal pressure makes the Twinkies expand. Then when I let the air back in they are crushed back down.

In this video I crush a glass vacuum chamber while it is under vacuum in the hydraulic press. This video is to test out what happens when a glass vacuum chamber breaks. Because of the pressure difference the air rushes in at supersonic speeds accelerating the glass shards. So the glass first implodes but then the pieces hit together causing on explosion! I also film it in slow motion which gives a really neat slow motion glass implosion/explosion. It is really cool to see the marshmallows instantly become crushed by the weight of the atmosphere after the glass breaks.

In this video I put potato chip bags (Lays, Doritos, Fritos) in my vacuum chamber to show you how much empty space there actually is in potato chip bags. First I put the chips in the vacuum chamber and let the bags explode. But then I show a cool trick where I poke a hole in the bag and then slowly let the vacuum suck out all the air from the bag. Then when I let the air back in the atmosphere crushes the potato chip bags in the vacuum chamber!

In this video I answer the question about cooking in a vacuum chamber. Many people have had questions about cooking in space. So I took on the challenge of testing if you can boil water in a vacuum and then use it to cook pasta. So first I boil water in the vacuum chamber and test if I can cook pasta. Then I add a heat source to the water to see If I can cook the pasta even with a heat source in the vacuum chamber.

In this video I put “solid air” or aerogel in my vacuum chamber and then in my hydraulic press. I put it in the vacuum chamber because aerogels are 98% air but air very strong still. Aerogels are are also very good insulators because they are mostly air. What’s neat is they are even better insulators than the air they are made of because the pores are smaller than the mean free path of the molecules.
