Clay Schramski was diagnosed in utero with two birth defects. Clay’s parents learned his liver was outside his abdomen, an omphalocele. Further testing revealed that he also had a hole in his diaphragm which caused his intestines to shift and deposit into his chest cavity. Thanks to numerous specialists with St.Vincent Women’s Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and Peyton Manning Children’s Hospital at St.Vincent, Clay celebrated his first birthday. The family wrote a letter of gratitude to Peyton Manning, who responded by visiting with the family in the hospital this past spring. Watch Clay’s Story of Hope.
