Featured is an instructive chess game between Nodirbek Yakubboev (Uzbekistan) and Hans Niemann (USA) from Round 9 of the 46th FIDE Chess Olympiad Samarkand 2026, held September 25th. Arising from the Nimzo-Indian, Classical, we reach a new position with 11…h5. Shortly after Yakubboev lashes out on the kingside with 13. g4, Niemann sacrifices a pawn, with the long-term aim of exploiting Yakubboev’s more vulnerable king.
