What Is Lifestyle Medicine?

Lifestyle medicine is often the first line or that foundation for weight loss, and it really addresses the body’s environment. It addresses a lot of the things that our body’s exposed to and things that we are able to, in some cases, modify. The six pillars of lifestyle medicine are concepts that relate to wellness: eating a healthy diet, moving frequently, getting enough sleep, not smoking cigarettes or drinking too much alcohol, having positive social connections and managing stress.
