Michael Gledhill Charged With Fatally Stabbing Actor James Handy | E! News

Two days after James Handy was fatally stabbed outside a home in Tarzana, Calif. on June 3, Michael Gledhill, the son of Handy’s girlfriend, was charged with his murder. Gledhill was charged with fatally stabbing the actor outside his mother’s home in Tarzana, Calif., on June 3, according to a June 5 press release from the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s office. The 44-year-old was charged with one count of murder “with a special allegation that he personally used a deadly weapon, a knife.” L.A. County District Attorney Nathan J. Hochman reflected on Handy’s death in the press release, saying, “This is not how anyone’s life should end, stabbed in the chest and left dying in the front yard of a home.” Handy— who starred in Beverly Hills, 90210, Melrose Place, ER, The West Wing, The Practice, Alias and more— was 81. While a police investigation is ongoing, the Whitakers’ longtime friend Joy Miedecke estimates Karen sent at least $30,000 over the course of a year to a person she had believed to be Selleck, who has not been accused of any wrongdoing or involvement in the case. “Of course, immediately we said, ‘No, that’s not Tom Selleck. This is a scam,'” Miedecke told NBC News in a May 22 interview. “But she wouldn’t believe anybody.”

Virgin River’s Stewart McLean Believed to Be Victim of Homicide | E! News

UPDATE: The ‘Virgin River’ actor has been confirmed dead, as investigators said they found his remains in Lions Bay, British Columbia, Canada, according to the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) per CBC. He was 45. According to the Squamish Royal Canadian Mounted Police, the actor was reported missing on May 18. The following day, authorities shared in a press release that they were “very concerned for Stewart’s health and well-being” after he was last seen at his home in Lions Bay, British Columbia, Canada on May 15.
