When the storms of life are raging, remember that God works all things together for your good and His glory.
| SOMETIMES IT TAKES A STORM |
CHARLES ISBELL & ZANE KING / © 1996 BEST OF ZION MUSIC / BMI
VERSE 1
When your waters are so troubled you don’t think you can go on
The waves may seem like mountains when your boat is oh so small
But somewhere past the clouds waits a new day to begin
Sometimes it takes a storm to calm the storm within
CHORUS
Sometimes it takes a storm to know you need shelter
When the anchors in your life disappear without a trace
And sometimes the wind will rage before you sail calm waters
Sometimes it takes a storm to find a hiding place
VERSE 2
They were drifting in the darkness and the sea was all around
They cried out to the Master please save us or we’ll drown
And Jesus heard their cries and with mercy stilled the wind
Sometimes it takes a storm to see the Son again.
CHORUS
Sometimes it takes a storm to know you need shelter
When the anchors in your life disappear without a trace
And sometimes the wind (AAH) will rage before you sail calm waters
Sometimes it takes a storm (W/GRACE) to find a hiding place
TAG
Sometimes the wind will rage before you sail calm waters…
(adlib) Sometimes it takes a storm to find a hiding place
Oh thank you for the storms, Lord You are my hiding place
Sometimes problems can be so large that the very magnitude of those problems drives the peace of God from you. If you don’t have peace in your life, it could be because you’ve never surrendered your life to the Lordship of Jesus Christ. Cast your burdens, your worries, your cares on the living God and trust Him to take care of them.

The ground above Yellowstone started rising in 2025. Then earthquakes began hitting the same area, directly over one of the most closely watched volcanic systems on Earth. It sounds like the beginning of something catastrophic. But scientists say the reality is much more complicated. Yellowstone’s ground is constantly moving, and earthquakes are part of its normal behavior. So what caused this particular patch to rise, and what do the earthquakes mean?

Gwen Stefani is feeling cool about her son’s new chapter. The No Doubt singer celebrated her and ex-husband Gavin Rossdale’s son Zuma officially becoming an adult, ringing in his 18th birthday with a heartfelt video that highlighted the teen’s musical abilities. “I cannot believe u are 18 today!!” Stefani wrote on Instagram Aug. 20. “Watching u grow into the sweetest + most talented young man has been one of the greatest gifts of my life. we love u soooo much Zuma.” Alongside the sentimental message, the 56-year-old—who also shares sons Kingston, 20, and Apollo, 12, with Rossdale—posted a montage of Zuma through the years, set to the sounds of the 18-year-old himself strumming a guitar and singing Zach Bryan’s song “Dawn.” And Stefani made sure to show just how much her son had grown up, transitioning the clip into a video of him as toddler playing a kid’s guitar and loudly singing “Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star.” In addition to showing off Zuma’s musical talents, Stefani also gave a look at his bond with her husband Blake Shelton, who was pictured wearing cowboy hats with his stepson in another snap. Janelle Brown has a new man in her life. Nearly four years after the ‘Sister Wives’ star split from Kody Brown following almost 30 years together, Janelle hard launched her new boyfriend, whom she simply referred to as Pete. “Some chapters are meant to unfold quietly before they’re shared,” Janelle posted to Instagram Aug. 18. “I wasn’t looking. I certainly wasn’t expecting you. And somehow, you turned out to be exactly what I didn’t know I needed.” While Janelle teased that the latest, secret chapter has been “pretty wonderful,” she was ready to reveal the news to the world, adding, “Everyone please meet Pete.” Alongside the sweet message, the 57-year-old shared a selfie of herself and Pete embracing while posing together in front of a river. Indeed, Janelle’s hard launch certainly came as a surprise as the TLC star previously admitted she wasn’t looking for love. “I’m not really interested in getting married again or even really dating at this stage,” she shared on the Sibling Revelry podcast in 2025. It wasn’t a bitter defeat, though. As Janelle added at the time, “I love my single life.” Full Story: https://www.eonline.com/videos/2511401027802/sister-wives-janelle-brown-goes-public-with-new-boyfriend-4-years-after-kody-brown-split

The experts explore how General Relativity may help creation scientists explain distant starlight in a young universe.
This episode addresses the perceived problem of light travel of distant stars and how the universe can still be young. The experts introduce the idea of an expanding universe and the dynamics of the speed of light. They then delve into general relativity and present several creationist models for solving the light travel dilemma. Several experts also share how God could have used natural laws and supernatural processes during the creation week. Finally, there is a discussion on why the Biblical model is the only one that works with the evidence and makes science possible.

What has our attention determines what we reflect.
In “Take Another Look,” Sarah Jakes Roberts reminds us that being made in God’s image isn’t just about who we are — it’s about what we reflect. Shame, fear, trauma, and failure can shift our focus, but they don’t change who God says we are.
When we turn our attention back to God and behold who He is, He transforms how we see ourselves, how we show up, and how we live out what He has called us to do.
This message encourages you to take another look at who God is — and who He says you are.
Message: “Take Another Look”
Scripture: Genesis 1:26-27 (NKJV)
Speaker: Sarah Jakes Roberts
Date: Aug. 23, 2026
